Hi everyone -
Due to the crippling oppressive heat in NYC right now, we are canceling open hours for today.  It is just too hot to get anything done.

Pierce Avenue Community Garden Open Hours

July 16^th, 17^th, 18^th from 5pm-7pm 

(Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

July 21^st from 3pm-6pm

(Sunday) 

**Cancelled if raining**

Visit the Pierce Avenue Community Garden during open hours to enjoy the green space, get your hands dirty, and take home free produce!

All materials needed for gardening are available at the garden.  Open hours will be supervised by BODY Club members who can help you volunteer in the garden.

So many tomatoes! Mostly green but some red too. We also have a ton of basil... All we need now is a mozzarella bush (or a resident cow) and we'd have everything for a great caprese salad.

End of June Updates

Wow, I can't believe June is almost finished!

We have had a lot of hot days, and with consistent watering - the plants are looking very happy!  We have so many green beans (haricot verts) and snow peas ready for picking!  Also, lots of green tomatoes just waiting to ripen, a bunch of growing zucchini and peppers, and lots of flowers on cucumbers and squash.

First zucchini of the year!  Julie thinks it looks like a platypus.
Tony thinks it looks like a duck.

Also, the garden is in full bloom, with beautiful flowers, happy grass and full beds.

Our next set of open hours aren't until mid-July, but we would love to have you come get some beans, peas, tomatoes and zucchini ASAP!

Open Hours Cancelled Today Due to Rain

Hi all,

Due to rain, we have to cancel our open hours today (6/18).  Please stop by another day!

We will be there tomorrow (6/19) from 5-7pm and will have a volunteer there on Thursday (6/20) from 5-7pm.  Also, we will be open on Sunday (6/23) from 3-6pm.

At least the plants are happy!
